Accreditation

The International School in Genoa is the only school in Liguria accredited by the Council of International Schools

Recent School Re-Accreditation

In November 2020, The International School in Genoa has received confirmation of its re-accreditation with CIS, the Council of International Schools. ISG is one of only 8 schools in all of Italy, and the only school in Liguria to have achieved this recognition with CIS.

As described by CIS "the final award of CIS accreditation shows that the school has achieved high standards of professional performance in international education and has a commitment to continuous improvement. In particular, the award of accreditation shows that the school:

  • is devoted to its mission and vision for students
  • has thought deeply about the services it offers to students, family and community.
  • invests the time and resources for validation from a globally-recognized accreditation authority
  • focuses on the quality of teaching, student learning, as well as student safeguarding and well-being
  • is committed to the development of the students’ global citizenship
  • has a suitable philosophy of education suitable for its students
  • promises only what it can deliver
  • is open to regular evaluation by its own school community and peer evaluators
  • constantly seeks improvement in all areas of the school plans strategically for the future."

In their report to the school, among other things CIS specifically commended the students and teachers for the respectful and caring relationships which result in trust and high-quality learning.

The school is proud to have achieved this recognition!

Accreditation has value for all members of the school community

The award of CIS Accreditation demonstrates a school’s commitment to high quality international education to the school community as well as to the outside world: prospective families, educational leaders and teachers as well as universities, embassies, other government departments, and globally-minded companies and organisations. Concerned professionals as well as parents naturally seek a quality education for children. Expatriate parents in particular face an unfamiliar environment which offers few guidelines on how best to select the most appropriate school for their child’s needs. The fact that a school holds CIS Accreditation can be very important in parents’ choice of school.

Characteristics of an Accredited School
